Copper plate engraving. Approx. 7. 5 x 4.5 cm in the plate. Martin Bucer (11 November 1491 – 28 February 1551), Protestant reformer and pioneer of ecumenism, who influenced Lutheran, Calvinist, and Anglican practices. Bucer tried, but failed to unite Protestants and Catholics to create a German national church separate from Rome. Contributed to second revision of the Book of Common Prayer with Thomas Cranmer. NF.
