One of 367 plates originating from 1st edition of Besler’s seminal Hortus Eystettensis (1613 ed.), a comprehensive botanical survey of the royal flower gardens at Eichstätt, Germany (a.k.a. the Four Seasons), and the first folio of its kind for the artistry, variety, and detail of its subjects. Latin text on verso. Partially hand-coloured. Mildly toned with some bleed through the plate from text, verso; else near fine.
